Shabby Chic Decorating - Room Redesign

Redesigning a room gives you the chance to play with color combinations, painting effects and finishes. A change can transform any room, even the smallest change may be all that is needed to revitalize a room. You can pick up accent pieces you like at your favorite shops, paint and wallpaper samples from the hardware store or paint stores and find swatches of fabric or colors that you want to try almost anywhere it may even be a favorite piece of clothing that sparks your creative juices. Lifestyles have become more stressful and frantic over the last few years, a well decorated home can become a sanctuary for you and your loved ones.

Some Inspiration........
This is a great example of a chic dining room with the emphasis on CHIC. I love the fresh painted white vintage pieces without the flaky, chippy paint, it gives this room a younger more sophisticated look., but would look just as beautiful if you like the worn paint look..

Love that painted white floor! My kitchen is blue and white (I've posted pix on my blog)with hardwoods and I wonder how much of a "task" it would be to paint them white.........

Hello Karen, It does take some work to paint hardwood floors. They have to be sanded, cleaned, primed with one or two coats of really good primer. Then your paint ... I would use 2 or three coats and finished with a few coats of polyurethane. You can use a roller but it is very time consuming.
