Shabby Chic - New Color Palette

I thought I would share with you my new color palette I am putting together for my living room /dining room/kitchen's makeover.

The main color will be white but I found a vintage piece of silk brocade in a champagne color (perfect on a pillow), I have some vintage linen pleated curtains that I am reworking for my windows in the dining room and then some new fabrics. The rooms are all connected and visible so they will have to blend. I will be incorporating some dark wood for contrast, shiny silver and/or dark bronze for my metal accents and my color will be little touches of pink. I am going to Los Angeles next week to finish up a bathroom my hubby and I did for a client in Bel Air and will be stopping by a few fabric warehouses looking for a few more accent fabrics, some white denim ( would love to find some brushed white denim) and something in a dark chocolate maybe. The problem I have with fabric is that I can picture what I want in my mind, the hard part is finding it. I want my last few choices to bring in a modern, slightly contemporary feel for a little pop.

Your room is going to look wonderful. It is so much fun decorating, isn't it. I know how difficult it is trying to find what you are looking for once you have an idea in mind. We have very few shops to choose from here in Canada, so I do a lot of shopping online.
Thank you for a great blog and ezine. I really enjoy reading them.

Hello Leslie, I have been taking pictures of my office makeover but it isn't completed yet. It seems I have organized so well that the center of my room is filled with tons of things I need to get rid of. I will definitely share pictures as soon as I can. Right now I have three versions of white on my walls trying to decide which is the right one.

Hello Jessica, to get that look a special plaster is applied to the walls, it can be quite costly. A diy tip is to use joint compound and apply to walls yourself and finish with paint and a glaze or the same effect can be achieved with paint, There are books available to help teach you the painting techniques or you can have it done by a professional.
